SPECIES OF COBRAS

THE KING COBRA

The King Cobra is not only considered to be the world’s longest Venomous snake growing up to 12-13 ft on average, whilst also been recorded to grow as long as 18 ft , is also known to be a agile & fierce predator, unleashing a large quantity of high potent venom with a single bite.

As often seen in its habitual grounds such as, South & South East Asia & dense forest highland areas, the King Cobra could be identified by characteristics such as, its extraordinary size, which distinguishes it from other cobras, as well as it’s unique “mark on the hood”

The King Cobras diet primarily consists of other snakes such as, smaller pythons, rat snakes, cobras of smaller species etc. It’s also documented to feed on lizards, birds & frogs etc.

It’s striking distance could extend up to 7 feet in length.

MONOCLED COBRA

The monocle cobra mostly found in lowland, woods, hills, crops, fields, villages & cities are distinguished by its “circular” mark behind the hood.

This specie of cobras prays on lizards, birds, frogs & even their own species. Pain & swelling are Symptoms of the bit & as a result could be fatal if neglected or not treated in time.

THE SPITTING COBRA

The spitting cobra, which grows up to a maximum of

approximately 9ft, is documented to be one of several cobra species, ejecting its venom from its fangs to a great distance of 2 meters or so, as an implementation of offence when defending it selves from predators. Although the sprayed venom could be harmless against contact with intact skin, it could however bring forth permanent blindness if enters the eye of the victim & left untreated. Due to the spread geometric pattern of the venom been sprayed from its fangs, the chances of inaccuracy in terms of hitting the target is rather less. Despite its name given, all spitting cobras have the ability of inserting venom through a bite.

Red spitting cobras are known to be a native of Africa.
